I Heart Coconut Oil

Some facts and uses for Virgin Coconut Oil - otherwise known as the "low fat" fat.
~Coconut oil is antiviral, antifungal (kills yeast too) and antibacterial.

1. Nails - use it for cuticle oil
2. Anti-Ageing Face Moisturizer - absorbs really quickly, so it doesn't leave your face feeling greasy or oily, after about 5 minutes or so you can put on makeup. It might cause break outs for the first week or so because it naturally detoxifies your face. Leaves your face radiant and blemish free and evens out skin tone/fine lines and wrinkles. has SPF4 naturally
3. Cooking Oil - best oil to cook with because of it's high heat tolerance. It is the most stable oils you can buy and does not need to be refridgerated. Is a solid at room temp.
Alot of cooking oils such as olive oil when burned at a high temp can actually create toxins!
4. Use in place of butter on bread, rolls, or crackers
5.Prevent Stretch marks - has vitamin E just rub it on the belly.
6. Babies - rub in the soft spot of there head to prevent illness. It is very good to feed a spoonful to babies everyday to protect them from diseases and harmful bacteria. Rub on gums for teething to ease the pain
7. Hair - apply to hair, wrap up in towel, leave in for 20 min & then shampoo to help dry brittle hair. It also prevents hair from thinnning for thick, glossy, beautiful hair.
8. Weight Loss - eating fatty oil will help me lose weight and belly fat? sign me up
9. Medicine- speeds healing of burns, cuts, bruises, and broken bones.
10. Massage Oil - massage into achey joints and muscles
11. Detoxification - helps clean out all of the toxins out of your body. Prevents free radical damage and autoimmune/degenerative diseases.
12. Beverage - mix a spoonful in with your hot tea, blend in shakes or smoothies
13. Immune System -has antimicrobial properties that kill harmful viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites.
14. Energy - helps boost energy naturally
15. Insect Repellent - mix with peppermint oil on skin
16. Popcorn - use it for popping popcorn in place of other oils
17. Anti aging - prevents wrinkling, sagging, and agespots
18. Sunblock - protects from damaging uv rays (just a little bit)
19. Digestion - improves digestion and absorption of fat soluble vitamins, minerals (especially calcium and magnesium), and amino acids.
20. Tooth Decay - facilitates the absorption of calcium and also stops tooth decay
21. Lip Balm - mix coconut oil with vanilla oil and some bees wax granuals - pour hot liquid into container and it will solidify.

So there is alot more but I think I will stop at 21! I used to use it alot for cooking and loved the flavor alot better than olive oil especially with pancakes. I also noticed it didnt burn as quickly in the pan as I was cooking. I want to start using it as a moisturizer and do some deep conditioning for my hair as well. I will let you guys now how it works out!

Also here is a neat recipe I plan to try

Coconut Body Scrub

1/2 cup of solid coconut oil

1/2 cup of liquid vanilla oil

combine together and soften ( maybe put the container in hot water if needed)

add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and stir

Use as a exfoliating scrub and moisturizing body scrub

My dad uses nothing but coconut oil in all of his cooking, which is actually very little considering most of what he eats is uncooked. (:
It really does have a yummy flavor. But it's so expensive!
